Options and Equipment

This is the first year of this body style and looks virtually the same as a 2005! 4.3 with automatic and overdrive. This was the fanciest model available, which is the LT. Has a long list of interior and exterior upgrades, in addition to having a full list of power and convenience features.  It also has what were called Dutch doors in the rear, which is very convenient and versatile.  Also has dual A/C with factory rear auxiliary heater.

Braun side lift with triple operating controls, almost; it has controls on the dash and on the lift and is also fully equipped to function with a wireless remote control, but I do not have the hand-held transmitter for it. But, if needed, the system can be made to function with a remote. Also, a common and relatively inexpensive solution would be to add control switches on the outside of the van. This van has a very expensive full lowered floor (but engineered to allow generous ground clearance) with flush-mount dual anchor bars in the floor for the chair. This also has the ability to very easily remove the front seats and to drive a wheelchair to the very front, for driver and/or passenger location.

History of Ownership

This is a one owner!

History of Care

Currently runs, drives and performs fantastic in every way.  The van and the various wheelchair systems are excellent. I don't have early history, but the Carfax report shows several detailed reports from a shop that performed extensive service on this in the past couple of years. And I have serviced it here, including new suspension on all 4 corners.

Carfax Report Summary

(Carfax is a widely used database which indicates the history of a vehicle including accidents, prior owners, etc.)

All good, nothing negative on the report.  Shows as one owner!

You Might Like To Know...

The Astro vans were considered the most stout of all minivans and have/had the most substantial frame, very similar to a full-size truck or van.  And this is a traditional style rear wheel drive, which is best for utility use and also has the ability to tow a decent load, which front wheel drive vans of this vintage don't. Evidence of these facts is that nearly all minivans in the 90's which were  used for service/repair/utility companies were these type vans.

Summary of this Gem

Here you have a very hard to find and much sought after one-owner wheelchair van. Due to the very expensive lowered floor and raised suspension it still looks and feels  like a very fancy minivan, but yet it has the function and utility to suit the needs of most wheelchair users. And it is beautiful, immaculate, fully functional and very low miles.
