Options and
Equipment
THE VAN: This
began as a 3/4
ton with
famously
reliable (and
best MPG
compared to
other brands)
5.7 engine and
optional
automatic with
overdrive. As
original
equipment it had
an extensive
option package
which included
dual A/C,
tow-package, HD
cooling, large
33 gallon fuel
tank, upgraded
inside and
outside trim,
window tint,
full power and
convenience
features and
more.
THE GOODIES: As
is customary
with luxury
touring/cruiser
conversion vans
such as this; it
was bought new
from the factory
by a conversion
company who upon
completion sold
to a dealer.
This conversion
is from a super
company called
'Discovery'.
Several
professionals
during the
'Rick's
rejuvenation'
process
commented about
how extremely
high-quality
this conversion
is. It has
wonderful, thick
leather
(flawless) and
solid wood trim
abounds, as you
see in the
photos. It
has extensive
custom lighting,
TV, VCR, 2
stereos, Many
storage spaces,
running boards
and flares,
window shades,
rear-mounted
spare, Vacuum,
air compressor,
fire
extinguisher,
rear bench seat
that reclines to
any level and
also folds flat
to a bed big
enough for two,
clothes-rack and
much more
including...an
insulated ice
box in the
floor! There are
a total of 4
high-quality
leather captains
chairs, one of
which is
included with
the van (see
separate photo
below) but was
removed to
create the space
that a person
now parks the
wheelchair.
MOBILITY:
This has a very
unique,
wonderful,
heavy-duty and
easy to use side
lift. This is
called a
'Mobile-Tech'
UVL (under
vehicle lift)
and is the most
innocuous of all
lifts and ramp
styles.
This company was
purchased by and
such products
are now sold
with the brand
name 'Braun',
which is
considered by
most to be the
ultimate/finest
brand of
mobility
equipment. When
not in use, this
unit is only
visible from the
passenger side
as you see the
face of it UNDER
the van, below
the
running-board.
There are NO
parts inside,
whatsoever...never!
This amazing
device is
operated with a
wireless remote
control. Lift a
person and chair
up to being
exactly level
with the floor
of the van and
you simply roll
in and out and
when you are
done with it,
the entire unit
stows away and
is virtually
hidden. There is
absolutely
nothing
intruding
whatsoever into
the floor or
entry area of
the van! No
blockage, no
platforms and
therefore no
rattles or
noises due to
inside
machinery...this
is awesome!

History of Care
This van has had
exceptional
care, and it
shows and you
can feel it. As
is often the
case with such
vans, I did not
get the receipts
of history from
the estate I
bought it from.
As with each of
my vans; this
has had a
detailed
inspection by a
major shop here
in Medford.
It was in such
great condition
it needed
nothing extra,
beyond the
customary oil
and lube
service.
Both ends of
brakes are
better than 50%,
has nearly new
quality tires,
no notable
leaks, A/C both
blow cold, etc,
etc. This van
functions, runs
and drives
wonderful in
every way. Is is
smooth, strong
and solid...as
you would hope.
As part of my
'Rick's
rejuvenated''
process for
wheelchair vans,
each mobility
component is
inspected,
serviced,
adjusted and
repaired (if
needed) by the
premium company
in this area
which
exclusively
cares for
wheelchair vans.

You Might Like
To Know...
* Chevy's of
this vintage get
better MPG than
Dodge or Ford.
* Very rare and
desirable to
find a beautiful
wheelchair van
of 'normal' size
that seats 6
people PLUS the
person in a
wheelchair. This
ability is due
to the unique
style of lift
under the van,
which most
effectively
utilizes the
interior space.
* Each of my
vans has a
superb paint
sealant as the
final step of
the extreme
detail. The
typical cost of
this treatment
is several
hundred dollars.

Summary of this
Gem
Here you have a
super-luxury
touring/cruising
wheelchair van
with amazingly
low miles.
And as with each
of my vehicles,
it is in
immaculate
condition in
every way.
And with raised
roof, very
efficient
seating (6 in
extreme comfort
+ wheelchair)
and wireless
remote control
lift that hides
under the
van...this one
would be
virtually
impossible to
duplicate in
this
price-range.
